About Us

Established in June of 2013, Longboard Café is a casual surf-themed bistro located in the Town Center shopping plaza at 67th St. in Ocean City. Awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence in 2015, Longboard has earned consistently rave reviews for food, cocktails, service and ambience. Open for lunch and dinner, our menu stands apart from typical resort fare with a wide array of offerings ranging from gourmet burgers, innovative tacos, salads and sandwiches to full dinner entrees featuring fresh local fish prepared in a variety of styles, beef, shellfish & pasta. Our pub fare includes items such as Mexican street corn, our famous “Wrinkled Green Beans”, sushi-grade ahi nachos and Chef Duffy’s award-winning “Bonzai” wings. On the beverage side, local craft drafts, premium margaritas and an outstanding wine list are featured.

Our slogan “Casual Dining…Refined” reflects our approach to food and beverages. Every item on our menu is about preparation and flavor. All of our sauces, salsas, dressings etc. are meticulously house made. We use fresh local sources wherever possible, and premium ingredients such as our chuck,brisket & short rib custom blended burgers.

Longboard is owned and operated by Rick Vach, a longtime Ocean City local with a rich family culinary background. Parents Dick & Mary Carroll owned the Quarterdeck and Wild Goose Chase restaurants in Ocean City in the ’70s and ’80s, and brother Josh owns and operates 5 restaurants in Wrightsville North Carolina. Sister Martha provides all the desserts for Longboard and several other local restaurants. Rick operated Island Time Café in the Sunset Island community for six years prior to launching Longboard, and also created the popular but short lived Avalon Market gourmet store in West Ocean City.

Every time we are in town, we eat at Longboard at least once.
Every time we are in town, we eat at Longboard at least once. It is rare to find a restaurant that can cater to everyone so well. The vibe is laid back but orderly. The quality of the meals and service is really second-to-none in OC. We brought our two sons and ate at a high top, and everyone was happy with their meal. The banana stuffed French toast is flawless. This is definitely a place to try something new, because as a diner, you know it will be done well. I had the Huevos Rancheros with black beans, and it was perfectly portioned and balanced. The bar here is also excellent. When I want a top-notch drink, I come here. See you next time, Longboard!
